Join us at Blend Kitchen for our first face-to-face SSEN Networking event for 2021. This event will bring some of the Sheffield area's brightest social enterprises and supporters of the sector together in one location to help them connect and grow. Our events aim to encourage greater growth and in-depth relationships in a relaxed environment.
Our SSEN Networking will be held regularly with different professional speakers in the field. For this August event the focus will be on Empowering Communities and how social enterprises can do this successfully as we move forward with our organisations. We will hear from two amazing social entrepreneurs; Victoria Hilton and Paul Swift. Based in arts and retail, both of these social enterprise leaders have found ways to survive during Covid-19 and have continued to successfully empower their communities in what they do. They will share about how they use their passion in helping the communities whilst building sustainable social enterprises.
Victoria is the founder of Artful - a social enterprise that combines identifying and creating opportunities for community engagement. She has curated over fifty exhibitions and events, including the nationally recognised ‘People’s Parade’ carnival. She is a passionate believer that art can be a powerful tool to engage and empower communities.
Paul Swift is the Co-founder of Chapelgreen Community Enterprise Limited, a social enterprise formed in April 2020 with an aim to save the Chapeltown Market which was about to close after 120 years. In June 2020 Paul, along with a team of local residents took over the market and launched TRAXX Community Market, operating every Saturday, the market now has 26 stalls, 5 street food outlets, a coffee shop and a bar. TRAXX Community Market, supports over 65 local traders, receives over 5000 visitors every month and puts around £500,000 of revenue directly back into the local economy.
Hosted by Sheffield Social Enterprise Network (SSEN) the 2-hour networking session will include food and drinks from the social enterprise Blend Kitchen.
