Kris Mackay

Kris has over 20 years’ experience working with charities, social enterprises and businesses to grow and thrive. She has enjoyed a broad career and has worked across health and social care, public health, voluntary and community, education, housing and commercial sectors at local, regional and national levels. This gives her the ability to bring forward new perspectives and innovative thinking into her practice which has always been focused on tackling social inequality, particularly looking at how you can use entrepreneurial approaches to tackle social issues. An experienced facilitator, coach and business growth specialist, she is committed to the values of collaboration, co-design, equality and inclusion. 

In 2022, Kris founded Growing Circles, a Sheffield based consultancy focused on supporting Social Enterprises in the region to grow. Current clients include national and local social enterprises with a focus on placemaking, social value, community, art and wellbeing. She also works as the Commercial Director and Lead Placemaking Associate for national Social Value experts Well North Enterprises, supporting national businesses such as Barratt Developments Plc and Ibstock Brick Plc to increase their social impact. A lover of cups of tea and getting to know people, Kris has strong networks across the region. Alongside paid roles, she sits on the Sheffield Built Environment for Good Group, part of Business in the Community, is a Trustee for Sheffield and Rotherham Wildlife Trust and a Non-Exec Director for Wilscapes CIC and Sheffield Social Enterprise Network CIC.
